No matter what we go through in life, our parents will always be there. For Jerry, he’d been through a lot and when he found his way back to the right path, his mother was there with open arms waiting for him. Before Christmas, he was told his mother only had 6 months to live since chemotherapy and surgery didn’t work for her cancer. Recently, she had a stroke and was deteriorating quickly. Jerry knew he had to be there by her side, but unfortunately they could not afford a flight.
Jerry wrote: “She did her best to make sure that life was as normal as it could be, taking me fishing, berry picking and spending time with my grandparents. She made life better and as good as it could be ”I haven’t seen my mom in years and I want her to see how happy I am now with my amazing wife and the new life I’ve built. I miss my mom and all I want is to see her one more time before she goes.”
After meeting the criteria, Give a Mile granted both Jerry and his wife Diane flights of compassion for them to see his mom.
