Journey of Love and Courage: Minneapolis to Ridgefield

Flight Story 1,100

From Minneapolis to Ridgefield – 15,000 United miles

In the twilight of her life, Deborah Webb, a courageous woman battling the last stage of ALS, embarks on a profound journey. Bound for Ridgefield, she seeks to reunite with her children, Trinity and Joseph, in a heartfelt final embrace. Assisted by her devoted sister, who rescued her from adversity, Deborah’s journey symbolizes strength in vulnerability.
Despite her immobility and the challenges of ALS, her indomitable spirit shines through. Deborah’s financial burden is heavy. Yet, her sister’s unwavering support, ensuring safe passage to New Jersey, echoes the profound bond they share.
This flight, more than a mere journey, is a testament to the enduring love of a family. It’s a poignant reminder of the resilience and dignity in facing life’s toughest battles. For Deborah, this journey to be with her children in her final days is not just about physical proximity; it’s about finding peace, love, and closure.

“What a beautiful organization you work for. I can’t begin to adequately muster the vocabulary to thank you all. I don’t know how long Deborah has left but you gave her the gift of spending her remaining time with her children, but more importantly... you all gave my children the opportunity to spend what time they have left with their mother. That is a level of altruism the likes of which are so rare today.
So, on behalf of myself, Deborah, Trinity 12, and Joseph 8, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. I am eternally grateful.
Very Respectfully,

As she prepares to leave Minneapolis, her story is a powerful appeal to the kindness of strangers. It highlights the essence of Give A Mile’s mission – to provide not just flights, but wings for hope and human connection in the most trying times.

Every donation helps people reach their loved ones for one last hug, smile, and farewell.
