Family’s Final Goodbye

Charlottesville, VA to Los Angeles, CA – 100,000 United Miles & 22.40 USD

As parents, we never think we will have to bury our kids as we grew up knowing it was their job to bury us. For Nancy, that is not the case for her. She received word that her youngest son was in a motorcycle accident and was unfortunately not going to make it. Unable to afford a plane ticket, a family friend suggested that Nancy and her other son Joshua apply to Give a Mile.

Nancy wrote: “He’s my youngest, a mother shouldn’t have to bury their son… I just want to see and hold my son one more time.”

Joshua wrote: “My little brother, he was in a motorcycle accident, I never thought have to do this , and when I’d get a chance to go visit him in Los Angeles it would be to say goodbye forever.”

After meeting the criteria for Give a Mile, Nancy and Joshua were both granted flights of compassion so they could be able to say their final goodbyes.
