Every Give A Mile flight request is different. Some people seek to bring a lifetime of memories to a close with one final meeting, but this flight of compassion was for a woman to see her biological mother for first time in more than 30 years.

Most of our Give A Mile flight of compassion recipients do make it to see their loved one in critical care. But every once in a while, the person passes away before the flier can reach them.

May and June have two very special days, Mother’s and Father’s Day.  These are days where we take time to stop and celebrate the important role and special love we have for these people in our lives.

Living in Kamloops, BC Lynda Dupere felt so far away from her ailing mother in Quebec City, and Lynda’s life situation made it difficult to find the funds to get there.

“My most sincere and grateful thanks to the wonderful team at the Give A Mile program! My name is Shelley Krastel, and I would like to share my experience with the amazing team at the Give A Mile flight program.

We all know of some famous fours, many were worn in the sport world. There is Bobby Orr in hockey, Lou Gehrig in baseball, and Brett Favre from the NFL.

We received the following flight request: “My name is Rey and my wife Ellen and I have 2 children, Darrell, age 11 and Aaron, age 7. 2 years ago our lives were very different.

This is Give A Mile’s busiest time: the Holiday Giving Campaign in November and December of each year. Once again we have set high targets to raise 3 Million travel miles and dollars in support of 50 flights of compassion.
