Thanks to the incredible sponsorship of Toronto Pearson Airport, three young sisters — Julianna, Saralynn, and Maryanne — were able to take the most important journey of their lives.
Their baby brother, Austin, was born the week before but sadly had significant congenital abnormalities that would prove incompatible with life. Austin and his parents were together in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, but the girls, left at home, still hadn’t met their little brother — and time was running out.
Austin was his parents’ seventh child, and they simply couldn’t afford the cost of flights for his siblings to come meet him. Without help, these young sisters would have missed the chance to meet and say goodbye to Austin.
With the generous sponsorship of Toronto Pearson Airport, Give A Mile was able to fly the sisters to Vancouver alongside their grandparents. This flight united a family in its darkest hour. It gave these girls a chance to say hello and goodbye, and to envelop their parents in their love.
When the flights were approved, Austin’s mum and dad shared how thankful they were for the help we were providing so their daughters could be near them.
