One Last Game – A Son’s Journey Home

Flight Story #1296

Calgary, AB > Toronto, ON – $589.83

Harry is flying from Calgary to Toronto to see his father—one final time.
It’s been ten years since Harry last saw his dad. A lot can happen in a decade, but some bonds don’t fade with time—they just wait for the chance to be renewed.

Now, Harry’s father is facing serious health issues: heart blockage and advanced diabetes. He’s living in a nursing home in Toronto and his condition is getting worse. Time is no longer on their side, and unfortunately, neither are finances. “Money is a huge barrier,” Harry wrote in his application. “I’m really worried about my father’s health. It would mean a lot to me to see him one more time.” This flight, sponsored by our generous partners at Billy Bishop Airport, means everything to Harry.

Growing up, Harry played hockey. No matter how busy life got or how cold the rink was, his dad showed up to every game. Harry remembers looking into the stands and seeing his father’s face, cheering him on, believing in him. That support, that steady presence—it carried Harry through some of the hardest times in his life.

Now it’s Harry’s turn to show up for his dad.

This flight is about a son getting the chance to say goodbye, to hold his father’s hand, and to thank him for always being there. Thanks to Nieuport Aviation, this story has a chapter that almost wasn’t written. And to everyone who donates their unused miles or gives what they can—know this: you are helping write stories that matter.

Every donation helps people reach their loved ones for one last hug, smile, and farewell.
