Flight Story #1275
Kelowna, BC > Victoria, BC – $562.61 CAD
Thanks to a generous donation from Toronto Pearson Airport, Tabatha was able to fly from Kelowna to Victoria to be with her father, Don, during his final days.
Tabatha hadn’t seen her dad in over ten years, but when she heard how sick he had become, she knew she needed to find a way to be there. Don is in the final stages of cancer, with his health declining quickly. While doctors offered him a bed in hospice, he chose to stay home, where his loving girlfriend cares for him with the help of Tabatha’s siblings.
Tabatha shared that her father was a hardworking man who raised four children on his own. Even though they didn’t have much, Don gave them everything he could, working tough, physically demanding jobs to support his family. She remembers his strength, his sacrifice, and his unwavering love.
Don’s illness is a heavy load for their whole family. With children of their own, including some with special needs, Tabatha’s brothers and sister are doing everything they can to support Don and Janice. Tabatha, living far away and with very limited income, knew she could not afford the flight to Victoria on her own. What she wanted was simple: to give her father one last hug, to tell him he’s loved, and to help ease the burden on her family during this difficult time.
All we want is to get together and give him a big hug from all of us at the same time,

Tabitha
