Thanks to the generosity of Lexus On The Park, Elaine was able to fly from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Orlando, Florida to see her daughter after three long years apart.
Elaine is no stranger to significant health issues and when her palliative care nurse told her about Give A Mile, she knew that this was the opportunity she needed to visit her daughter, herself too sick to travel to visit her mum.
While traveling would not be easy for Elaine, she knew she needed to find a way to get to her daughter when she learned that her health had also worsened. Despite her own serious medical challenges, her heart simply couldn’t bear being separated any longer. The last time they had seen each other was over three years ago — far too long for a mother and daughter who share such a deep bond.
Elaine’s illness limited her income, making the idea of affording a flight seem impossible. Reaching out to Give A Mile was a leap of hope — and because of our generous sponsor, Lexus On The Park, that hope turned into reality.
With their sponsorship, Elaine’s flight across the continent was secured. She will soon be able to wrap her arms around her daughter once again, to laugh, to cry, and to make memories together that will last forever. This trip is more than a flight — it’s a reunion of hearts after years of waiting and worrying from afar.
