Dewald received a heartbreaking call saying his mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver failure on top of other serious medical issues. Her final wish was being able to have her family all together for one last Christmas.
Not being able to afford a flight himself, Dewald reached out to Give a Mile after hearing about the organization from his mother’s homecare nurse told him about it.
“With this flight donation, I could be there for my mom when she now needs my unconditional love and support. I really appreciate all the sacrifices she made for me and I would do basically anything to get the whole family together one last time while we still have the opportunity.”
