Generosity Unites Family Across Continents

Flight Story #1220

London, UK to Calgary, CA – $1,883.42 CAD

Alexandra lives in London, England with her husband and young son, Theodor.
Trying to stay in touch with her dad in Calgary was challenging – a proud man, he had not let Alexandra know that through a series of unfortunate circumstances he was now marginally housed and had also been diagnosed with metastatic cancer and had just a few months left to live.
Alexandra was devastated when she found out and wanted desperately to come and see him, say her final goodbyes and most importantly, grant him his one wish of meeting his little grandson Theodor before he died.
Alexandra’s heartfelt plea in her application form touched our hearts when she said “I just want to be there and hug him and I just want him to meet our little boy and I want to hold him and say goodbye. I don’t want to regret not seeing him before he dies I don’t think I can live with that for the rest of my life. please help 🙏”
Thanks to our generous sponsors at Westco, we were able to grant these two flights to reunite Alexandra and her dad and for him to meet his grandson Theo.
When we sent the Flight Approved email to Alexandra, her reply was full of gratitude for people who are so generous and allow us to provide these flights of compassion.
“Thank you so much!!! I’m so overjoyed and just in tears! Thank you!!! Thank you!! Thank you!! I can’t even describe how I felt reading your email, overjoyed and in tears, like I won the lottery. This is unbelievable! It’s my Christmas wish come true. You’re not just granting the wish of a dying man, but also that little girl inside me that just wants to see her dad one last time! Thank you infinitely! The world needs more people like this with heart! Forever grateful
