Flight Story #1192
Spokane, WA to Stockholm, Sweden – $827.90 USD
Hannah, who is from Sweden, but has been living in America for the past few years, recently made the journey back to Stockholm to be with her mother, Gunilla, who was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. When the doctors told her Gunilla only had a few weeks left, Hannah knew she needed to reach her family as quickly as possible. After two years apart due to her green card process, this trip was not only a way to be with her mom, but also a chance to be with her entire family, offering and receiving support during this extremely difficult time.
With her husband working to establish their new business, finances were tight, and the flight to reunite her family seemed out of reach. Through Give A Mile, your kindness gave Hannah the opportunity to share a few final weeks with her mom, offering the love and support she has always received from her. Gunilla recently told Hannah, “The thing I am most thankful for in my life is that I have children that I love and that love me,” a sentiment that brought everything full circle for Hannah as she returned home.
Thank you so much! This is a relief... I am so grateful there are services like this for people in need.

When she found out her flight was approved, Hannah’s financial strain was alleviated, and she conveyed her gratitude: “Thank you so much! This is a relief… I am so grateful there are services like this for people in need.” These words captured the urgency of the moment and the deep sense of relief she felt knowing she would soon be by her mother’s side.
Thanks to you, Hannah is now with her mom, holding her hand, sharing memories, and saying goodbye. This trip allowed a daughter to comfort her mother and bring together the family that means everything to both of them. Your compassion has made an unforgettable difference, reminding us all of the power of kindness. Thank you for making this journey possible and for giving Hannah the chance to share these precious final moments with her mother.
