Flight Stories #1392 & #1393
Amman, Jordan > Ottawa, Ontario
For Isra and Waleed, this flight meant traveling together to be with someone who has played a deeply meaningful role in their lives — Marcia, Isra’s godmother. In their applications, they shared that Marcia is now in critical condition. They were advised that this may be their final opportunity to see her in person.
Isra wrote about the years she spent completing her PhD in Ottawa, and how Marcia consistently supported her through difficult moments. She described Marcia as a steady source of care, encouragement, and guidance — someone who stood by her when things felt overwhelming. Being able to be present with her now, during this time, was extremely important.
Waleed also shared how much Marcia has meant to their family, explaining that her kindness and support helped them move forward during challenging periods. Together, they expressed how meaningful it would be to see her and say goodbye.
With a very limited household income and several family members to support, affording international travel was not possible without assistance.
Thanks to the generosity of Toyota on the Park, flights were approved for both Isra and Waleed. After receiving the support, Isra shared her gratitude, writing:
“I was deeply touched by your support and could hardly hold back my tears. It truly meant a great deal to me.”
Isra - Flight Recipient
Because of Toyota on the Park, Isra and Waleed were able to make this journey together — to be present, to offer comfort, and to honor someone who has meant so much to their family.
We are deeply grateful to Toyota on the Park for making moments of connection possible when time is precious.
