Although Andree and her 8 year old son Felix tried to visit her mum once or twice a year, when her mum’s condition changed sooner than expected, Andree was not in a position to pay for two flights so they could say their goodbyes in the short amount of time now left.
She shared with us that her mum was everything to her. An amazing and kind hearted person who used to be a lunch guard at her school when she was growing up increasing the amount of time they got to spend together as Andree was growing up.
She said: “My mom is truly my best friend, she’s the only one who’s ever loved me without conditions. This flight would mean the world to me. We talk every day and being able to see her sooner than later would be life changing”
Andree shared how Felix and his grandmother have a special bond. He was the first grandson of the family and the one to carry a crazy mix of their family genetics. How he is an absolute spitfire and loves his grandmother so much.
When we shared that thanks to the generosity of Toyota in the Park that their flights were approved, Andree emailed us to say:
“Thank you so much for approving me, words can't convey how much this means”
Andree shared that her mom died during their visit and told us how grateful she was to Give A Mile for giving her and Felix time to be with her before it was too late. She said simply, “Thank you for choosing us ❤️ “
