Lauren and her dad bonded through many things – Lauren has fond memories of boating and fishing with her dad over the years. But now sadly, they have bonded over their cancer diagnoses.
When Lauren’s dad, who lives alone, was in the Emergency room, she was told he would be transitioned to hospice as he was no longer well enough to go home.
Despite her own significant health issues, Lauren was willing to find the strength to fly and say goodbye to her dad, who had become too weak to continue their regular phone calls.
Thanks to Kal Tire for their generous donation to Kevin Crowe’s Mission for Miles Yukon fundraiser, when Lauren reached out to Give A Mile for help with her flight, we were able to say yes to her.
When her flight was approved, Lauren texted, saying, “THANK YOU! I can’t express how grateful I am for your help!”
