Sharon recently made the journey across the Atlantic from Vancouver to Norwich to be with her mother, who is in the hospital facing the end stage of her illness. This trip meant everything to Sharon, who has been dealing with her own health struggles, having undergone surgery finishing up radiation therapy. Now, because of you, she’s able to stand beside her mum, offering the same love and support her mother has given her over the years.

Her mum has been in the hospital for weeks now, and Sharon knew she needed to be there. Growing up, Sharon was always “Sandy” to her mother, who lovingly reminded her to “stay away from the edge” when they walked the cliff tops together. Hearing her mum call her “Sandy” again from her hospital bed brought back those cherished memories and made Sharon realize how much this journey meant for both of them. As she shared, “You only get one mum, and I’m losing her.”
Now, thanks to your support, Sharon is able to be by her mother’s side, holding her hand, sharing memories, and saying goodbye. Sharon shared the following sentiments: “Thank you so very much! I would not be able to go without all your help. I am truly humbled!” Your kindness made it possible for her to be there when her mother needed her most, a wish that felt nearly impossible given her circumstances.
