When Louie reached out to Give A Mile, he shared with us that he was a Canadian citizen currently working in the UK. Moving to England had depleted what savings he had.
When his dad’s health had taken a significant turn for the worse, Louie needed to get home as soon as possible to see him again before he died.
Louie’s dad had lived his life well – a devoted man who had dedicated his life to helping others. He had worked for World Vision, for the lives of people in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangladesh who were affected by war, genocide, poverty and famine. His passion for humanitarian work was truly inspiring to his family.
An incredibly loving and caring dad who spent countless hours capturing his children on video, creating a treasure trove of memories that they will always cherish.
Louie shared how he hoped to spend precious time with his dad and provide comfort during his final moments.
