Lloyd’s dear friend Renate is terminally ill, facing her final days. Thanks to the generosity of NAV CANADA, Lloyd was able to travel from Halifax to Calgary to be by her side. This journey represents love, support, and deep gratitude for their 30-year friendship.
Renate, who came to Canada decades ago, built a life of resilience and love, raising her two daughters, and forming an unbreakable connection with Lloyd and his wife, Helga. For Renate, Lloyd and Helga were more than friends—they were family. When Renate’s health took a sudden and tragic turn, Lloyd feared he would not have the means to be with her. But thanks to the kindness of donors like you, Lloyd made it to Calgary, bringing comfort to Renate and her daughters during this difficult time.
Lloyd shared what this opportunity has meant to him, Renate, and their families in such an urgent time:
“At points, it seems she will go at any moment. And then she rallies and has much more energy. I am so glad that I could be here with her and sit with her—to remember all that we have known and shared together as a soul family. She is so grateful that my wife and I are here, and also that we can support her daughters … Lots of hugs needed.”
