Jennifer’s whole world changed when her mom was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. The devastating news became even harder to bear when she learned the cancer had spread to her mom’s liver. From her home in Washington state, Jennifer had been trying to help coordinate her mom’s medical care, but the physical distance was overwhelming.
“My mom is my best friend,” Jennifer stated, sharing “We usually talk three times a day.” Despite her immense love for her mother, and her oversight of her care, recent financial stresses and pressures made it impossible for Jennifer to access cross-country transportation on her own. So she reached out to Give A Mile, telling us “It’s literally killing me not to see her or hold her hand.”
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Jennifer was able to be with her mom after her devastating diagnosis and Jennifer’s trip allowed her to bring love and support to her mom during a critical chapter of their lives.
