When Rebecca’s Grandma’s health began to quickly fail and she was moved into palliative care, Rebecca reached out to Give A Mile for help with a flight so that she could have the chance to say goodbye to her.
Rebecca explained that although she works full time, her husband is currently in school and it’s hard to make ends meet, leaving her without enough extra money to be able to make this urgent flight. Rebecca told us that it would mean the world to her, to be there in person and to give her Grandma one last hug.
Rebecca painted such a lovely image of who her grandma was: “My grandma Roberta was the typical grandma everyone imagines! The sweet, baking, pinch your cheeks kind of lady! She would take me for two weeks every summer and I loved every moment!! She spoiled me, but she was also this tough, don’t get on her bad side kind of lady! My grandma was the most amazing, stubborn, funny lady! And I was so lucky to get to call her Grandma”
