Everything changed quickly. Ian shared that his daughter, Jayda, experienced a sudden medical emergency and is now in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital. With her condition critical and uncertain, he knew he needed to be by her side.
Ian described his daughter and son as his best friends. As a pensioner living on a modest annual income, affording last-minute travel across the country was not possible. The urgency of this situation left little room for planning.
Through a referral from a healthcare provider, Ian reached out for help. Because of the generosity of The Schneider Family Foundation, a flight was arranged so he could travel to Vancouver and be present during this critical time.
After returning home, Ian shared his gratitude:
“I am safely back in Toronto and need to express my sincere gratitude to you and your team for helping me out with that situation… much appreciated… thank you.”
