For Tiffany, this flight meant the chance to see her mother, Dorena, during an important and emotional time. In her application, she shared that her mother had been diagnosed with a serious health condition in September, and her recent scan showed that her condition had progressed.
Tiffany explained that she moved from Pennsylvania to California in 2014 and has only seen her mom twice in the last eleven years. This visit would give her the opportunity to spend time with her again — something she described simply as being able “to be with her one last time.”
Finances made the trip impossible on her own. Tiffany shared that both she and her wife had recently lost their jobs, leaving them unable to afford a last-minute flight across the country.
