For Skyla, this flight meant the chance to be with her grandmother, Gloria, during her final days.
In her application, Skyla shared that her grandma is receiving hospice care in the Yukon and that her remaining time is very limited. Being able to visit her now felt urgent and deeply important.
Skyla explained that she recently moved to Saskatchewan and does not yet have stable employment. With very limited income, affording a last-minute flight on her own was not possible. She reached out to Give A Mile hoping for help to make this visit possible while there was still time.
I felt so much relief when I saw that my flight was approved.
Thanks to the generosity of NAV Canada, Skyla’s flight was approved. After receiving the news, she shared how much it meant to her, writing: “I felt so much relief when I saw that my flight was approved.”
Because of NAV Canada’s support, Skyla was able to travel to be with her grandmother and her family during a moment that mattered deeply to her.
