Home to Mom, One Last Time

Flight Story #1298

From Victoria, BC > Brandon, MB – $876.18 CAD
Susan’s mom had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. The doctors said it would be only a matter of months. For Susan, who had been living in Victoria, there was no question: she would move home to Manitoba to care for her mother and spend whatever time they had left together.
My mom has been my rock, my best friend, someone who is always there to support me but also always up for an adventure or a trip to some place new.

“My mom has been my rock, my best friend, someone who is always there to support me but also always up for an adventure or a trip to some place new,” Susan shared. But with a modest annual income, no financial support from others, and intentions of starting over in Manitoba, the cost of a last-minute cross-country flight was more than Susan could carry. “I would appreciate the financial assistance during this time,” she said. “I’m moving back to be there for her, and this would help me stress a little less financially,” so that all her energy can be focused on taking care of her mom.

Thanks to the generosity of Lexus On The Park, we were able to grant Susan’s flight. She made it to Brandon, not just to say goodbye—but to walk with her mom through this final chapter, every step of the way.
This story is a reminder of how powerful love can be. Of how one flight can change everything. And of how your kindness helps bring families together when it matters most.

Every donation helps people reach their loved ones for one last hug, smile, and farewell.
