Baby boy Michael was born at 37 weeks gestation in Prince George hospital with a diagnosis of cutis aplasia. He was air-ambulanced to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with his mother and was later diagnosed with Trisomy 13 and is considered palliative. He has been admitted to the NICU for the last 3 weeks. His parents are Joe and Annie, and he has 7 older siblings with ages ranging between 5 and 18. The family run a small hobby farm outside of Burns Lake, and finances are limited. Since baby was born, Annie has been in Vancouver with him, while Joe remains at home caring for their other children. Joe and 5 of the older children have come to meet and visit baby. However, their 2 teenage sons (14 & 16) have not. As they are under the age of 19, they are not allowed to travel on the northern health bus without an adult escort. Annie desperately wants her sons to meet their baby brother as baby’s condition can deteriorate quickly and without notice. The family would be very grateful if Give a Mile is able to grant the 2 boys a return flight to come and meet and spend some time with their baby brother.
