My name is Alexius, I am 35 years old, I live in Langley, BC, and I have recently got news from my sister Shea that my biological mother is in the hospital and is dying of stomach cancer. She was misdiagnosed last year, thinking it was gall bladder problems, but it wasn’t. The doctors asked that her family come to be with her because she doesn’t have much longer.
My mom and I haven’t seen each other in years. I’m her first born and when I was young she gave me up to my father. I didn’t meet her until my teens and since then it has been a very loving but stubborn relationship. There’s many years of hurt on both sides but she wants me up there to say goodbye. I also want to say bye and tell her how much I really do love her because I never expressed it enough in her life.
I am on disability here in BC due to my mental illness, social anxiety, BPD, and PTSD from a past relationship trauma. I struggle every month to feed myself and get the necessities of life so with this unexpected news I’m worried I won’t be able to say goodbye and have closure.
