I am 63 years old and diagnosed with a stage IV pancreatic cancer spread to the liver and ovarian cancer. I had 4 treatments of chemo and it did not go well. I became very ill and was in bed 6 out of 7 days. I was told that chemo would prolong my life but not cure it. I did not have any quality of life and so stopped. They give me 6 months to live which would be March 2016. My daughter lives in Calgary and I would love to spend my last Christmas with her. She is married to a man who has permanent progressive MS so now requires 24 hour care. She has a care aid coming in while she works. She prefers him to live at home rather than a care facility. It’s easier for me to travel then for her to come here. She is my heart. This is so hard for her with her husband dying the last 6 years, he is not even 40. Now I have an incurable cancer. She is struggling and it breaks my heart. My daughter is 38 and has so much on her plate. Christmas has always been important to both of us and we haven’t spent Christmas together since her husband became ill. He has lost 95% function of his body. When she and I spent Christmas together after my divorce it was truly special. We love it. It will always be one of my treasured memories. Unfortunately I am now on a disability program and so money is a problem for me. My daughter is only one working so money is a problem for her as well. I would appreciate any help to spend one more Christmas with her and I would be grateful for this support. Thank you.
