I have been diagnosed with incurable non-small cell lung cancer with widespread metastases. I recently also developed leptomeningeal disease involving cauda equida, which has resulted in spinal cord compression. I am not longer able to walk and require assistance moving to and from bed and wheelchair. I have no family in Calgary to help with my care. My brother Eduardo Garcia has obtained a humanitarian visa and will be travelling to Calgary to escort me back to Peru to spend my final weeks with my family and friends.

My brother Luis has been battling with Lung Cancer for the past several months. His recent diagnosis is an incurable non-small cell lung cancer with widespread metastases. He recently also developed leptomeningeal disease involving cauda equida, which has resulted in spinal cord compression. He is unable to walk or self-care without assistance. Unfortunately, he has no family in Calgary to assist him in his final weeks. I am travelling to Calgary to escort him back to Lima so he can be taken care of by family and friends. An appropriate hospice facility is being contracted to assist with the next chapter of his life.
