Jenny arrived alone to Canada in 2005 from China – she wanted to “see another part of the world.” She lived in London, Ontario for a couple years, and then then headed west to Calgary, Alberta in 2007. She wanted to be close to the mountains. Jenny enjoyed working Calgary as it is an active city.
Since all her family is in China, Jenny tried to go and visit as often as she could. Her last visit was in August of this year. Although Jenny would like to return to China to spend the rest of her days with her family, she is unable to due to the progression of her disease. Jenny has asked her bother, Bin to come and stay with her. Jenny’s parents are too old to travel. Jenny was diagnosed with stage 4 grade 3 ovarian cancer. Jenny has not shared with her family that she is dying.
